Root Canal Treatment

With advancements in technology and anesthesia, root canals have become much easier and more comfortable for our patients. During a root canal procedure, our dentist will expertly remove the infection from inside the tooth, ensuring your smile remains healthy for the long term.

Root Canal

Typically, the hard enamel on the outside of your tooth protects the inner structures. However, when bacteria penetrate the tooth due to a deep cavity or injury, they can cause a severe infection. Root canals are essential to treat this infection and save your tooth from further damage or extraction.

  • What type of dentist does root canals?

Root canals are usually performed by general dentists or endodontists. Endodontists are specialists in diagnosing and treating issues related to the inside of the tooth. They have additional training and expertise in performing complex root canal procedures, like our very own Dr. Mirick.

  • How long does a root canal last?

A successful root canal treatment can last a lifetime with proper oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups. The longevity of a root canal is also influenced by the placement of a crown or filling after the procedure, which helps protect the treated tooth from future damage.

  • Can you drive after a root canal?

Yes, you can typically drive yourself home after a root canal procedure, especially if only local anesthesia was used. However, if you received sedation, it’s recommended to arrange for someone to drive you home. Always follow our team’s advice regarding post-procedure care and transportation to ensure your safety.
